The famous Riavulillo Festival returns to Arola (Vico Equense) where you can taste this special spicy cheese and many other Sorrentine specialties. From 3 to 5 August 2014.
Will be held from the 3 to the 5 August 2014 one of the most renowned and awaited gastronomic events of the Sorrento Peninsula. There Sagra del Riavulillo di Arola, a hamlet of Vico Equense, this year reaches its twentieth edition and will return to "inflame" the palates of all lovers of spicy and genuine flavors of our land.
In an exceptional location, in the small village of Arola, overlooking the coast of Sorrento, will be celebrated for the first weekend of August on "Riavulillo" (Little devil), a little one caciocavallo pasta filata, handmade and stuffed with black olives, olive oil and chopped chilli pepper, subjected to a smoking treatment. There are also other variants of "Riavulilli", less spicy but always "divine", with a filling of ham, fresh tomato and basil, white olives or mushrooms.
Il "Riavulillo" it can be both a tasty appetizer and an excellent second course, it should be served hot and stringy, grilled, baked or baked. A delight not to be missed that belongs to the distant culinary tradition of Vico Equense and Arola, known for their dairy production, and which has come down to our days.
Besides tasting the "Riavulillo" you can also taste other typical specialties of the area such as the Provolone del Monaco DOP, chestnut honey produced locally, the typical sweets of the Neapolitan tradition and many other delicacies.
La Sagra del Riavulillo di Arola it will be held in the churchyard of S. Antonino, where every night groups of local singers will perform that will delight visitors with folk and folk music.
