Tastings, music and exhibition stands at the 2016 frog festival in Marcianise!
From 1 to 4 September 2016 the city of Marcianise, in the Caserta area, will host the 14esima Frog festival.
The area, following the construction of the Regi Lagni in the seventeenth century, a sophisticated system of gullies that conveyed rain and spring water towards the sea, became a very fertile territory for the cultivation of hemp andfrog breeding, which were used as food because rich in protein.
During this event Carmine Russo, chef of the Association, once again breaded and fried, along with fosso eels, pettole and beans, cuoppo di mare, sausage and broccoli sandwiches, zeppole with seaweed, chips and to complete the menu, a slice of watermelon, dessert and coffee will be served.
For the younger ones there will be a after festival with the risto-pub, with tasty tastings of the best wines from Campania and draft beers that will accompany a platter of local gastronomic delicacies.
There will be no gastronomic stands, music and dances an exhibition of live frogs and eels (which will then be released). An event to encourage environmental redevelopment and recall the importance of ancient crafts linked to the agricultural world.
