The gas station attendants are not turning back and have decided to confirm it strike to be held on 24 and 26 January 2023, even if they have made themselves available and withdraw it even at the last minute if the confrontations with the Government should convince them to take a step back. The protest will take place throughout Italy, therefore Naples will also be involved.
It was the decisions of Faib, Fig e Fegica, mainly because of the price billboard issue. In fact, the new implementing decree specifies the obligation to communicate any change in price, under penalty of closure of the business for omitted communication. We will explain the government decisions in more detail later.
Now let's focus on the modalities of the strike.
When and where will the strike take place?
The strike will take place from Tuesday 24 January to Thursday 26 January all roads and highways of Italy and will also include i self-service. It will last 48 hours, in spite of the 60 hours initially foreseen, and precisely:
- from 19:00 on 24 January to 19:00 on 26 January.
The petrol stations open for the minimum guaranteed services
The unions have communicated that i minimum essential services with a number of stations operating both in the city and on the motorway.
The reasons for the strike
The clash between gas station attendants and the Government concerns the transparency decree which provides for:
- reporting obligation the change in petrol prices. Weekly and non-daily obligation;
- closure due to failure to report after four omissions in 60 days, no more after three days, without time limits, even if not consecutive;
- penalties for failure to report ranging from a minimum of 200 euros to a maximum of 800 euros. It depends on the turnover of the pump.
The pump managers disagree because they believe these decisions place the blame on them speculation current. A Figisc representative stated that “the table confirmed that for the government ours is a category to be observed with a sign, as in the Middle Ages".
