This is a period of strong turmoil, following the increases in the energy components, the cost of living is becoming unsustainable and so, in response, companies are also experiencing difficulties.

In addition to the transport strike on 16 December, there is also the strike of the petrol stations with no less than 4 days of closure.

The reasons for the strike

The protest was decided by the trade unions FAIB, FEGICA and ANISA, representing the motorway managers following the hypothesis of a Ministerial Decree that makes tough competition of motorway petrol stations compared to those on ordinary roads, being the same subjects at much higher costs.

The press release reads:

[the decree] does not provide for any rationalization of the network for greater efficiency and re-proposes a royalty imposition system for the exclusive benefit of the licensee's position income. does not contain a regulatory reform that could allow recovery of cost-effectiveness aimed at reducing the abnormal difference in prices between ordinary roads and motorways, violates the sector regulations aimed at protecting the continuity of management and employment levels

When and where will the strike take place?

The shaking will start from 22pm on Tuesday 13 December until 22pm on Friday 16 December along the entire motorway network.
Service areas with catering services will not be involved in the strike, the classic "Autogrill" areas, which will remain regularly open.

But beware: Autogrills cover only a very small part of the motorway network, there are many long stretches covered exclusively from traditional service areas which will remain closed throughout the strike.

In which case motorists will be forced to take the nearest exit, go to a traditional petrol station and only then return to the motorway route in the event of a long journey.

We therefore recommend that plan carefully trips during troubled days.

How to plan your trip and view the open rest areas

A map of only open parking areas is not available, but it can help us the highway site which allows you to plan the trip indicating the starting point and the arrival point, to then carry out some smart filters.

A useful filter, in our case, is the one relating to the item "Restaurant“. Knowing that all rest areas with catering service will remain open all we have to do is check this item to find out, along our route, which rest areas are open during the days of the strike.
