Four people were jailed following a State Police operation that concluded this morning. The target was a neo-Nazi cell that was planning actual attacks in the Campania region.

Digos and anti-terrorism forces are at the forefront of this operation, which has so far led to the arrest of four of the suspects currently in jail.

Action coordinated by prosecutors Antonello Ardituro and Claudio Onorati, with the work of the prosecutor Giovanni Mellillo.

Who are the arrested and suspected

At the moment the order of the prosecutors has led to the imprisonment of 4 people:

  • Maurizio Ammendola, 42 years old from Maddaloni. Recognized as the founder of the movement
  • Michele Rinaldi, 47 years old from the province of Avellino
  • Massimiliano Mariano, 46 years old from Castellammare di Stabia
  • Giampiero Testa, 25 years old from Marigliano

Subjected to an obligation to submit to the judicial police Fabio Colarossi, a 36-year-old Roman. Also under investigation is a Ukrainian citizen at the moment, however, who has already returned to his territories of origin.

Interceptions and planned attacks

There is great concern over the content of the interceptions; it seems the group was planning an attack against the Carabinieri barracks in Marigliano , a town in the Vesuvian area in the province of Naples, and also an attack against a shopping centre in the Nola area.

The ideal that moved the group, nicknamed the Order of Hagal Association, praised the "white power" with a clear neo-Nazi, supremacist and denier matrix.

The first phase of the investigation

During the first phase of the investigation, multiple searches had already been carried out , with a first group of suspects having already been identified through social networks—areas in which the terrorist group was extremely active.

The conclusion of the first phase led to the next, with this major counterterrorism operation. More than thirty searches are still underway throughout Italy , as the network appears to be particularly extensive.
