History, art and science to the guided tour theatrically to the Sansevero Chapel of Naples
Il 24 October and the 21 November 2015, the NarteA association has organized two theatrical guided tours of "The Stone Testament" al Museo Cappella Sansevero.
The Stone Testament It consists of all the precious ones statues, underground, frescoes e marble sculptures commissioned to great artists from the Prince of Sansevero, Raimondo di Sangro, a multifaceted character, whose culture included philosophical, medical and scientific knowledge.
The Chapel holds incredible masterpieces, such as the beautiful and amazing Veiled Christ, created by Giuseppe Sammartino, and the Anatomical Machines, representing two striking bodies, which show meticulously the functioning of the entire circulatory system.
Visitors will be guided by an expert in the path in the Chapel, along the nave and in the underground Cavea, while professional actors will represent one theatrical pièce, written by Febo Quercia, in which the human and academic profile of Prince Sansevero will be traced, an enlightenment devoted to alchemy and according to whom "through reason man reaches disillusionment and gets rid of false truths".
