Three actors for Prince William
Curiously, the character of the Prince William will be interpreted by three actors at different stages of his life:
- Ed McVey: as the heir to the throne during his college years (he's pictured)
- Senan West: at an earlier stage in William's life.
- Rufus Kampa: also in an earlier phase of the Prince's life.
The plot of the sixth season
The sixth season of The Crown will cover a historical period fundamental to the British royal family: the late 90s and early 2000s. During these years, the series will deepen the knowledge and falling in love between William and Kate, the collapse of the popularity of the royal family following the Diana's death and the scandals that follow.
The historical context of the series
In 2000, Prince William decides to take a year of break before starting his studies at St Andrew's University in Scotland in 2001. It is here that he meets and falls in love with Kate Middleton, who will become his wife in 2011.
Filming in Scotland and possible release date
Filming of The Crown 6 is currently underway in Scotland, and if all goes smoothly, Netflix could release the final episodes of the series a November 2023.
