Soon life for influencers and their followers will become much harder in the United States: from January 2024 it will no longer be possible to download the app in Montana and other American states are thinking of adopting the ban too. And in Italy? Surprisingly, the ban could also come here.
The state of the Montana, yesterday 17 May 2023, has made a historic decision that will make life much more difficult for influencers and their followers: da January 2024 the use of TikTok will be prohibited for all users and, for any platform that will allow the app to be downloaded despite this ban, there will be fines starting from 10 thousand dollars a day!
The decision was officially made in the night with the aim of protect users' personal data, especially those of the youngest, but also for political ends, namely to prevent the Communist Party of China (as revealed by the governor Greg Gianforte) to collect users' private information and use it for non-transparent purposes.
The position of Italy
Needless to say, the novelty was applauded by the other American states which, from what we read on Webboh.it, it seems that they are now willing to follow Montana's lead and ban the app from their territory.
But if in the United States you are going towards a blanket ban of TikTok, how is the situation in Italy? Well, unfortunately here too there is no good news, neither for the influencers nor for their followers, because Italy too would be thinking of a large-scale ban of the app.
In the meantime, there isn't much news about it, except that the Meloni government, in the wake of the indications released by the European Parliament, would be thinking of prohibiting the use of the application ai public employees. The other users, on the other hand, can remain calm: no ban in sight for them, at least for the moment.
