Musical Fridays return to the Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella, with a program full of events!

Also this year the majestic Sala Scarlatti del Conservatory of San Pietro a Majella in Naples, becomes the theater of the "Musical Friday 2015", the famous cycle of concerts started last 18 March.

Until June 5 2015, the well-known musical review, with the artistic direction of Elsa Evangelista, will immerse the participants in exciting chamber and symphonic performances by the professors and students of the Conservatory and with the presence of famous national and international characters.

The program is full of prestigious appointments including guided tours at the exhibition "Jommelli e Mattei", a celebration dedicated to the "Masters of the Neapolitan School" with the delivery of the scholarship "Giuseppe Martucci" and jazz performances, organized on the occasion of the World Jazz Day.

Particularly exciting will be the meetings on May 24, dedicated to young fallen students during the World War and the concert on May 29 in homage to Prince Francesco D'Avalos, the great composer of the '900.

Among pianos, horns, saxophones, violins and cellos, there will also be space for electronic sounds, on the day entitled "Jommelli Remix ", edited by the Electronic Music section of San Pietro a Majella. The next appointment, therefore, is set for 30 March 2015 with the "Misere di Sessa Aurunca", a suggestive polyphonic song associated with an interesting debate.

Program Music Friday 2015

  • 30 March 2015 - performance by the Aurunca Musical Research Group which presents the traditional "Miserere di Sessa Aurunca" together with a round table on the Arcadian and unique tradition of this polyphonic song in Campania
  • 14 April 2015 - performance of the Ensemble of Corni del San Pietro a Majella together with that of the Brass Ensemble Nato.
  • 17 April 2015 - concert by the duo Carmen Lefrançois on the saxophone with Alvise Sinivia on the piano.
  • 24 April 2015 - a day dedicated to the "Masters of the Neapolitan School" together with a scholarship named after Giuseppe Martucci.
  • 30 April 2015- concert dedicated to the World Jazz Day, proclaimed by UNESCO, in which the Jazz Department of San Pietro a Majella, in collaboration with US Naval Forces Europe Band / Allied Forces Band, will offer a performance to celebrate the international event.
  • 22 May 2015 - concert by the violinist Antonio Calosci with Anna Maria Cavallazzi at the piano.
  • 24 May 2015 - evening dedicated to the Anniversary of the Great War in which the Naples Conservatory will remember, with a concert, the sacrifice of its students who fell on the western front and will make public unpublished news from the historical musical archive of San Pietro a Majella.
  • 29 May 2015 - we will remember the figure of a protagonist of twentieth century music, the prince composer Francesco D'Avalos, just one year after his death. The meeting will also be attended by two pianists of great caliber, Francesco Libetta - interpreter of many of D'Avalos' piano pages - and Francesco Caramiello, our prestigious representative of Maestro Vincenzo Vitale's school. The Orchesta of the San Pietro a Majella Conervatory, involved for the occasion, will be directed by Maestro Francesco Vizioli.
  • 5 June 2015 - the duo Ermanno Calzolari - Luca Signorini (double bass - cello), will perform with the San Pietro a Majella Orchestra conducted by Gianluigi Zampieri and the participation of Federica Severini, the young student of San Pietro a Majella just winner of the first prize at the 'American Protégé International Concerto Competition 2015 on the violin.
  • "Jommelli Remix" by the school of Electronic Music of the Conservatory and staging of Niccolò Jommelli's L'Uccellatrice, will conclude the celebrations dedicated to the composer from Aversa starting in the autumn of 2014 with the triple event (exhibition, concert and conference) of the San Pietro a Majella
