Vinicio Capossela and the Banda della Posta at Arenile Reload: between folk dances and musical atmospheres of yesteryear
Saturday 28 September 2013 will be held in Naples, at theArenile Reload, the concert of Vinicio Capossela and the Swiss Post Band! The evening, produced by Drop Events, will begin at the hour 19:00 and the live will start for hours 21:00.
The Sagra degli Orti Flegrei: ancient dances and flavors of our land, this is the title of the event that will involve everyone in a musical atmosphere of other times, from the 50s and 60s, when, in the upper Irpinia (land of origin of Capossela) in the small town of Calitri, a group of elderly people met in front of the post office on sunny afternoons. From there they monitored the place to see the Pension arrive. And when the check arrived they celebrated to the sound of music with their instruments.
Mazurke, polka, fox-trot, double step, tango, tarantella and quadriglia, waltz, this is the repertoire performed many years ago, and recovered today thanks to Vinicio Capossela and his Banda della Posta with which he celebrates and gives life to a "marriage" that never took place, but which represented a ritual consumed with food and humble, dance music.
Vinicio Capossela also held a three-day festival in Calitri, from 28 to 30 August, dedicated to free events and shows for a "wedding" that never existed, called "Sponz Fest". The name derives from the term "sponzare", halfway between "marry" and "sponge" which refers to "soaking" oneself in food.
