On the day of the Labor Day there will be the extraordinary opening of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Stabia, Oplontis and the Boscoreale Museum

THE1 May 2015 the Vesuvian archaeological sites of Pompei, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Stabia and Museum of Boscoreale will guarantee aspecial opening to allow the numerous tourists to visit really enchanting places rich in historical finds.

The sites will be visitable from 8,30 to 19,30, while the entrance tickets will be on sale at ordinary rates.

Visitors, admiring the ruins of the cities submerged by the incandescent lava of Vesuvius during the devastating eruption of the 79 a. C., will be able to spend a day full of art and architecture. The Vesuvian excavations, in fact, have brought to light precious objects, paintings and frescoes, houses, amphitheatres, theaters and baths that testify the ingenuity of the Romans in constructing a complex, but regular urban layout.

We also anticipate that, starting from 27 May until 2 November 2015, an exhibition will be set up to tell the story of Pompeii, entitled Pompeii and Europe. 1748-1943, at the Pompeii amphitheater, promoted by the Special Superintendency, in collaboration with the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
