In Naples demonstrations for Iranian women in Piazza Municipio and Piazza Plebiscito
Monday 10 October 2022 in Naples they will take place two manifestations of solidarity to Iranian women who in recent weeks, as we know, have been protesting in the streets against the regime that is suffocating them.
The first will be in Piazza Municipio 10.00 hours, in front of Palazzo San Giacomo, anyone can take part in this event organized by the Council of the elected representatives of the Municipality of Naples which will also be joined by all the permanent commissions of the Municipality and Municipalities. The other will be in Piazza Plebiscito and we'll talk about it later.
This is an important signal of support for Iranian women and their protests, which arose afterwards the killing of Masha Amini, arrested and fatally beaten by the moral police for wearing the jhab incorrectly.
This symbolic gesture of ours will be done to:
testify, as women of the institutions and as citizens, the condemnation of all forms of violence against women, which in Iran and many other countries still suffer very severe restrictions on their freedom and their self-determination.
as declared by Annamaria Maisto, president of the Council of the elected.
The symbolic gesture of the participants in the event
The news spread from the Municipality that the women who will participate in the demonstration in Piazza Municipio they will tie their hair into a ponytail so remember also Hadith Najafi, another girl who, demonstrating in Iran, was killed by the police precisely for this gesture symbolizing her adherence to the protest for freedom.
The other demonstration in Piazza Plebiscito
In the afternoon there will be another demonstration in Piazza Plebiscito, At 16.30, organized by CGIL, CISL and UIL, under the Prefecture. Of course, it will always come together to show solidarity with Iranian women who claim their freedom and their rights.
We will show up wearing two drapes: one black as a sign of mourning and one White as a sign of rebirth.
