In Naples there will be the Run with Roma 2024 marathon, from the Mostra d'Oltremare, for Rome's candidacy for the Olympics!

to support Rome's candidacy for the 2024 Olympics, in some Italian cities the Run with Rome 2024 will take place, a series of running races and also to Napoli there will be one.

Il 10 September 2016, starting from Mostra d'Oltremare there will be one competitive race and a non-competitive, organized by FIDAL and the Rome 2024 Promoting Committee, simultaneously with 11 other cities in Italy. Thus, we want to celebrate running and remember the great Ethiopian athlete Abebe Bikila, who on 10 September 1960, arrived first in the Rome Marathon.

As mentioned, the arrival, as well as the departure, of the competitive race of 10 km  they will be at the Mostra d'Oltremare, more precisely in the area adjacent to the Mediterranean Theater. Instead, the non-competitive race of 5 km it will all take place in the Mostra d'Oltremare.

The race will be preceded by the Olympic Torch relay, brought by former Olympic Neapolitan athletes who, starting from the regional headquarters of Coni al Vomero, arranged every 500m, will bring it to the Mostra d'Oltremare. Here the Tripod will be switched on and the marathons will begin.

The athletes will also be given a parcel with a T-shirt with the Run Rome 2024 logo, t-shirts that they will wear during the race to show their support.

How to participate in the Run with Rome

To register for the competitive race you will have to fill in a specific form. The registration fee will be of 5 € and part of the sum collected will be used for help the populations affected by the earthquake of Central Italy.

Competitive race course

Departure from the Mediterranean Theater with a path of 1450 meters inside the Mostra d'Oltremare, then you leave Piazzale Tecchio and walk along:

  • Kennedy Avenue
  • Via Nuova Agnano and turn right into Via dei Giochi del Mediterraneo
  • Rotonda Corrado Barbagallo and the Mediterranean Games and turn right into via Nuova Agnano
  • Via Agnano agli Astroni and turn right for the entrance to theRacecourse of Agnano, turn left into via Antonio Beccadelli until the end of the descent, then turn right into Viale della Liberazione
  • 100 m before the ex Nato entrance returns to Viale della Liberazione
  • Via Del Mediterraneo plays up the Scandone Swimming Pool and turns right into Via Arturo Labriola
  • Turn left onto Viale Kennedy and left again to enter the Mostra D'Oltremare from Viale Kennedy
  • Completion within the Exhibition
