From Thursday 28 April to Sunday 1 May 2022 in Naples the appointment with the Eastern Hemisphere Sailing Championship is renewed, or l'Eastern Hemisphere Championship, which will see the participation of world sailing champions. Wednesday 27th Aprilthere will be the opening ceremony, before the test race and the crew party on the quay.
The event is organized by International Star Class Yatching Racing Association, Reale Yatch Club Canottieri Savoia and Fleet of Capri in collaboration with the Navy Sailing Section of Naples, Circolo Remo and Vela Italia and Circolo Canottieri of Naples.
The new edition of the Sailing Championship
For the new edition of the Sailing Championship which will take place in Naples with the Star Class after well sixteen years, it is expected the participation of great guests, athletes belonging to world sailing. Among these there will be Enrico Chieffi, Star 1996 World Champion and 2021 European Champion. Then again Diego Negri, Star World Champion 2021 and European 2011.
Fifty will the subscribers at the event, which will represent 12 nations. The program of activities opens with the inauguration event on April 27, before the test race and the crew party on the quay. Then there will be two rehearsals per day, starting on April 28th, with a total of eight races which will take place in the Gulf of Naples, defined as the Wind stage.
On May 1st, Sunday, there will be the closing event with the prizegiving which will take place on the terrace of the Circolo Savoia.
From the Lungomare di Napoli you can then admire the regattas that will take place over the four days.
