Back with the theatrical review "East of the World" at the Teatro the First of Naples with three new stage-theatrical readings!
East of the 2017 World Il Primo returns to the theater with the second edition dedicated to oriental theater. The review also includes three shows this year: the dates to be marked on the calendar are 19 February, 26 March and 23 April.
If the previous season had the Eastern European theater as its protagonist, this time the focus is on the Far East, with works from China, Japan and North Korea. In fact, Lu Xun's “Diary of a Madman”, “The Lovable Life of a Beloved Leader”, inspired by the official biography of Kim Chng-il, and “Confessions of a Murder in the Woods” by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa are on the program.
The scenic-theatrical readings invite the public to discover the East through a social and cultural confrontation with the West. Therefore, readings and performances of great stature are expected, also considering the patronage given by foreign embassies and consulates to the shows last year.

Diary of a madman, by Lu Xun
19 February
"Everyone wants human flesh and everyone is afraid of being devoured by others at the same time." This is the conclusion reached by the protagonist of the story, convinced of an imaginary plot against him. Clouded by illness, the madman creates a series of paranoid connections in his mind.
The lovable life of the beloved leader
26 March
It is a reading freely inspired by the official biography of the North Korean leader Kim Chng-il. The tools used by the dictator to indoctrinate the masses and instill the country's communist ideology in the people are revealed.
Confessions of a murder in the woods by Ryūnosuke Akutagawa
23th April
In medieval times, in front of the judge, the three protagonists of the story take responsibility for the crime, each reporting their own version of the facts. In fact, their goal is not truth, but the safeguarding of their honor.
