Three theatrical readings on stage at the Teatro Il Primo on Eastern European culture and literature
Al Il Primo Theater from November 2015 to April 2016, the fascination of the culture and literature of theEastern Europe, thanks to the staging of three theatrical readings taken from masterpieces of literature from / on the eastern area of our continent. With the aim of offering food for thought on the historical conflicts between East and West.
The review To the East of the World, theaters and stories from close horizons, it will start Sunday November at 29 18 with the representation of the show "Memories of the Mussa Dagh", inspired by the novel by Franza Werfel "The forty days of the Mussa Dagh", with Vincenzo Liguori, reduction and adaptation by Armando Rotondi, organized by Stefano Russo, a production of the IDEA Association, with the collaboration of "DieciLune - Festival dell'Autore ". The event has the patronage of the Council for the Armenian Community of Rome and the Austrian Culture Forum.
The show illustrates the Turkish plan of deportation and extermination of the Armenian Christian population made by Turks and Kurds in the 1915 and as a group of seven Armenian villages located at the base of Mount Mussa Dagh, about 5000 people, decided to oppose with extermination weapons and how they succeeded, barricaded on the mountain, to resist the Turkish assaults for 40 days before being rescued by a French warship, which accidentally passed through the Gulf of Antioch.
