La plot it will not betray the original, but it will make the story more contemporary and closer to us. The story will take place, in fact, in the psychiatric hospital of Aversa in 1982, and Randle McMurphy will become Dario Danise.

With Maurizio de Giovanni, who oversaw the adaptation of the text, we decided to set the story in an Italian psychiatric clinic in 1982. It all begins with the arrival of a new patient who must be "studied" to determine if his mental illness is real or simulated. His bravado, his irreverence and his spirit of rebellion against the rules that strictly govern the lives of patients, will bring confusion and disorder but at the same time his overwhelming charge of humanity will infect other patients and try to awaken the right in them. to freely express their emotions and desires.

A show not to be missed which, in addition to citing one of the most famous cinematographic testimonies of the past, carries with it an intense emotional charge, representing an egregious lesson of civil commitment. The issues addressed here are sickness, diversity, coercion, deprivation of liberty, transformed, dramaturgically, into a cry of denunciation that shakes the conscience and makes us reflect, against the methods of coercion and imposition adopted inside the asylums. Someone flew over the cuckoo's nest it is, today as then, an extraordinary one metaphor on the relationship between Individual and Power consisting, on the repressive mechanisms of society, on the conditioning of man by other men.
