The artist Alexey Kondakov gives life to Renaissance paintings with special photomontages in the streets of the center of Naples!

There are all kinds of scenes that the artist Alexey Kondakov create with his photomontages set in Naples. Renaissance and romantic characters become protagonists of glimpses of everyday life: who stretches the clothes, who takes the subway, who engages in the smuggling of cigarettes.

This is how the Ukrainian creative has had fun in the last few months in the city of Naples, decontextualizing through a meticulous work of lights cupids, muses and others classic figures that integrate perfectly in the streets of the center. This is a collection of 16 works presented last November in an exhibition at the PAN.

The works are the result of a 2016 Neapolitan stay during which Kondakov was involved in a project by enhancement of the territory and of the local artistic heritage. Kondakov's artistic practice is based on the technique of digital collage, used to tell stories through the contrast between urban environments and classicism.

The works can be admired in the volume dedicated to this initiative, "Alexey Kondakov for Naples".
