Laddie John Dill's exhibition, Antiquitas in Luce, at the Archaeological Museum of Naples offers unreal works of art.

From the 4 May to the 3 July 2017 at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples Laddie John Dill's solo exhibition entitled “Antiquitas in Luce". The exhibition, organized by MANN and the ART 1307 Cultural Association, is curated by Ornella Falco and Cynthia Penna with the patronage of the Consulate General of the United States of America.

The vernissage it will be held on Thursday 11 May at 17 pm in the presence of the artist who is considered one of the main exponents of the “Light and Space” artistic movement considered a development of the “Minimal Art” of the Sixties and Seventies. This artistic trend was based on the influence that light and geometric shapes could have on the environment and on the spectators.

Laddie John Dill, as an "experimenter of light", has introduced new elements and manipulation of materials within the art world such as cements, neon tubes and industrial aluminum. In the halls of the MANN, two material and at the same time unreal compositions have been installed, made of sand, earth and neon that break the scenographic balance of the museum made up of Greek-Roman busts, white, green and gray marbles and works on display.

Near the installations, the walls will change color assuming features of drama and total unreality. The pink pillars will blend in with the black of the volcanic lands on the floor, the sculptures will appear as something that floats in space and everything will seem to be dematerialized in a surreal atmosphere in which visitors will no longer be sure if what they will see corresponds to reality.

Laddie John Dill will propose a type of contemporary art that will touch the senses of the spectator and through a visual decomposition of the material, will construct and recompose a new work with different materiality.
