Extraordinary free opening of the Maschio Angioino to visit the courtyard, armory and Sala dei Baroni
Sunday 22 November 2015, from hours to 9,00 14,30, an extraordinary opening of the Maschio Angioino, with free admission.
The monument, which is one of the most fascinating landmarks in the city of Naples, has undergone various renovations and restoration of the original facades, crenellations and moat, transforming itself from a medieval-Renaissance castle into a modern isolated fortress , a few steps from the suggestive Caracciolo seafront.
Exceptionally the spaces of the Courtyard, of the Sala dei Baroni, of the Armory overlooking the arsenals whose walls, ancient finds and luxurious furnishings seem to exude stories about the Angevin and Aragonese royals, official ceremonials and revive the great history of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
The visit to the Castel Nuovo is organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples in collaboration with the Artistic Heritage and Cultural Heritage Service, which work intensively to increase the tourist presence in our beautiful city.
