Unmissable opportunity to visit the Maschio Angioino of Naples for free!

The October 18 2015 there will be aextraordinary and free opening of the Courtyard and the Hall of the Barons in Castel Nuovo, or Maschio Angioino, symbol of the city of Naples.

The initiative is curated by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples, with the support organization of the Artistic Heritage Service and Cultural Heritage. To facilitate the journey, some will be distributed toponymy maps of the city of Naples and the Castle.

The castle, in medieval and renaissance style, will open to the public the Hall of the Throne, renamed of the 'Barons'following the arrest, in this place, of some barons, misled by the Aragonese king Ferdinando, who annexed inhabited centers to his own court, taking them away from their property.

The structure of the room has an octagonal vault and is very suggestive with sixteen "ribs" that form a star with a bright oculus in the center and a large dome surrounded by windows.
The courtyard, however, is surrounded by towers, among which the majestic stands out Triumphal Arch.

Guided tours are for maximum groups 20 Guests every half hour, from 9.30 to 14.30.
