Art and astronomy meet thanks to the IncAstri d'Arte initiative in Naples!

Since June 16 2016 the event will start "IncAstri. Art meets Astronomy", Organized in collaboration between theAstronomical Observatory of Capodimonte and the Campania Museum Complex.

During the initiative, a series of meetings, initiatives and itineraries will be organized in five museums in the city: Royal Palace, Certosa di San Martino Museum, Castel Sant'Elmo, Pignatelli Museum e Duca di Martina Museum.
The common thread will be astronomy seen in the artistic dimension, source of inspiration and knowledge of the mysterious Universe.

We will be able to see the astrolabes of the Naval Section of the Certosa di San Martino, used to calculate the position of the celestial bodies, the optical boxes and the telescopes of the Museo Duca di Martina, the telescope from the collection of the princess Pignatelli and the famous ones nineteenth-century clocks with planetarium and figure of Atlas kept at the Royal Palace.

The inaugural appointment will be 'Stelle di Re: from the Farnese collection of Carlo di Borbone to the Capodimonte Astronomical Observatory', in which two astronomical instruments will be discussed: the celestial globe by Roll Reinhold and the clock by Chlasner, belonging to the Farnese collection, exhibited at the Astronomical Observatory.

For each appointment is reservation required.
