At the Bellini Theater in Naples a sensory journey takes place in the most absolute darkness on the notes of Cesare Picco's piano
Music can also be listened to with other eyes, or even without sight, in order to experience new listening dimensions, using all the other senses.
It is what will happen to the Bellini Theater of Naples Wednesday 22 April 2015, when it will go on stage, starting from 21 hours, Blind Date, a concert in the dark performed by the pianist Cesare Picco. A real sensory journey into absolute darkness made by CBM Italia onlus, Non-Governmental Organization engaged in the fight against the preventable forms of blindness and disability in developing countries, and conceived in the 2009 by the internationally renowned pianist Cesare Picco.
The unique experience that viewers will be able to live with Blind Date is based on a simple and magic formula, LIGHT - DARK - LIGHT. At the beginning of the concert, the audience will be welcomed into the hall with a soft half-light and, once the concert has begun, the lights will slowly dim until they reach total darkness and then gradually return to the initial light.
For the first time, listening to the music of Cesare Picco immersed in absolute darkness, the common use of the senses will be upset: losing our usual points of reference and we find ourselves more ready to receive other sensations, to experience new listening conditions.
To conduct the event the actors of A Place in the Sun Patrizio Rispo and Ilenia Lazzarin. The Blind Date evening will be for charity, to support projects to combat avoidable blindness of CBM Italia Onlus and to bring light back into the lives of blind people living in the countries of the global South. The concert is free while seats last.
