The famous opera by Ibsen, Casa di Bambola, staged at the Mercadante Theater in Naples with the direction of Claudio Di Palma and the adaptation by Raffaele La Capria

Al Teatro Mercadante Naples will be on stage, from 1 to 17 April 2016, Doll House, the famous masterpiece of Henrik Ibsen, in the adaptation of Raffaele La Capria and with the direction of Claudio Di Palma.

Doll House is a play written by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen in 1879 during his stay in Amalfi and was represented for the first time on 21 December of the same year in Copenhagen. The text, still considered modern and current today, had a spirit of rupture and rebellion with the society of the Victorian era, representing a pungent criticism of the traditional roles of men and women in the context of marriage.

Nora, the protagonist of the drama, chooses to abandon her husband, home and children, a "scandalous" and surprising gesture that calls into question, for the first time, the personal freedom of the individual and the emancipation of women.

Like the same Ibsen he had the movement to express in some notes of the drama: There are two kinds of moral laws, two kinds of conscience, one in a man and another completely different in a woman. One cannot understand the other; but in the practical matters of life, the woman is judged by the laws of men, as if she were not a woman, but a man ».

The director Claudio Di Palmat the door in the scene of Doll house is «On the one hand it lists questions and on the other hand it looks for reasons, answers and syntonies in the rewriting of Raffaele La Capria whose felicitous intuition has already opted for a linguistic synthesis that enhances the controversial moral and the corresponding modernity of Ibsen's work».
