In the wonderful maiolica Cloister of Santa Chiara will be held a special guided tour with tasting of the ancient sweets born between the grates of the monastery.
In the splendid setting of the Cloister of Santa Chiara in Naples will be held, Saturday November 25 2017, a special guided tour with dessert tasting, for an evening of sweetness and music.
The title of this unmissable event is Sweet memories. Review of Neapolitan monastic sweets, and it will be structured like a real journey through the monastic recipe books, where visitors can discover the sweets born precisely between the grids of the Monastery of Santa Chiara.
Participants in the event will have the opportunity to admire the wonderful majolica cloister, or delle Clarisse, made in 1739 by the famous artist Domenico Antonio Vaccaro, which is one of the most representative symbols of the Baroque in Naples. Inside the cloister will also be held a musical moment, with the notes of the singer Patrizia Lopez, enriched by the stories of the Neapolitan writer and humorist Amedeo Colella. Following will attend a cooking show by Prof. Salvatore Di Meo of the “Voltaire” Enogastronomic Institute of Naples.
At the end of the guided tour in the majolica cloister will be held, in the evocative Hall of the Hoods and in the Ancient eighteenth-century Refectory, the tasting of monastic desserts now forgotten, made, exclusively for the event, by the Leopoldo Pastry Shop.
