At the Royal Palace of Caserta the new installation for the Terrae Motus Collection by Lucio Amelio is inaugurated!

Wednesday June 1 2016 to the Palace of Caserta there will be the inauguration of the collection "Terrae Motus“. It is a collection of valuable works by the famous gallery owner Lucio Amelio donated after his death, as per his will, to the Royal Palace of Caserta. The contemporary art exhibition includes 72 masterpieces between paintings and sculptures built after the Irpinia earthquake in 1980.

La Amelio collection, which until today has always been exhibited in small rooms, can finally be admired in all its splendor.

In the large hall, located on the first floor of the Reggia, they are already on display three large canvases of "Fate presto" di Andy Warhol made in Pop Art style, reinterpreting the first page of the newspaper "Il Mattino" published a few days after the earthquake. Next to it was mounted the canvas with the skulls of Nino Longobardi, the three paintings by Cy Twombly and the oil “Static” by Gerhard Richter.

In another room has been placed Julian Schnabel's work "Veronica's Veil" and "Fofo ha non fifa" by Luigi Ontani while in the corridor it will be placed "Earthquake”By Juliao Sarmento. All exceptional works that demonstrate the perfect combination of ancient architecture and contemporary art.
