Likely resumption of home deliveries for pizzerias in Campania as early as April. Here is the proposal by Gino Sorbillo.

As you will remember, a few days ago a protest was mounted by some important restaurateurs in Naples, in full emergency Coronavirus, against the ban on home deliveries and among these was the pizza maker Gino Sorbillo.

Gino Sorbillo's proposal

We proposed a simple formula to De Luca: only two variants of pizzas, Margherita and Marinara, and only two employees.

So they await one any order from the Region to be able to restart the delivery service which would allow these activities to breathe, although it is not the definitive solution. Of course, everything would happen in full safety for those who deliver food and for users who receive them, always according to this proposal.

De Luca's answer

During today's press conference April 17, the President of the Campania Region said that it could be possible on a resumption of home deliveries for pizzerias and restaurants, but only if health conditions permit and not based on pressure. So, you have to wait the next few days for more answers.

The reassurances of the true Neapolitan pizza association

Stephen Auricchio, general director of the True Neapolitan Pizza Association (Avpn) which has the affiliation of 700 pizzerias all over the world, pushes to find a solution to get the economy going again, without creating a dangerous social situation.

In addition, he claims that the Neapolitan pizzerias are already ready because they are already subject to Hccp standards and they are very safe, at the level of supermarkets. To these certifications, then, the procedures to further reduce the risk will also be added and they will certainly follow all the rules that the governor or national law will ask for.

Sorbillo's other requests

The Neapolitan pizza maker also asks for the freezing of premises rents and deposits and that there is renegotiation of monthly fees in the months following the reopening. In addition, it requires more guarantees and punctuality for employee layoffs.
