Coming soon the Naples-Pompeii Peace Race 2017: the athletes will compete in a 28 marathon kilometers along the sea.
Among the sporting events coming to Campania there is one not to be missed: it is the Naples-Pompeii Peace Race 2017, this year at the 24th edition. The event will be held on 26th November: all the affiliates of Fidal, the Italian Athletics Federation, will be able to participate.
La 28 kilometers marathon has its roots in history. In fact, the route follows the one made in 1875 by the famous painting of the Madonna del Rosario, which from Porta Medina in Naples reached Pompeii on a dung cart. We will leave da Piazza del Plebiscito continuing along the sea, crossing Portici, Ercolano, Torre del Greco and Torre Annunziata, with arrival in Piazza Bartolo Longo in Pompeii.
Every 5 kilometers will be there refreshment points for athletes. The entire route will be manned by the Carabinieri, the Municipal Police and the State Police, and health care will be provided at all times. The best classified will be awarded cash and in-kind prizes. The maximum travel time is set in 3 hours and 30.
The event is organized by ASD Bartolo Longo with the support of the Shrine of Pompeii and in collaboration with the municipalities of the cities concerned.
