French artist Daniel Buren exhibits an on-site installation that breathes new life into the atrium of the Madre Museum!

The Mother Museum of Naples hosts them a new and suggestive work ofFrench artist Daniel Buren, entitled Axer / Désaxer. Work in situ, 2015, Madre, Naples - #2, which is the second of the two interventions specially made by the artist in the museum spaces.

The work Axer / Desaxer is an installation site-specific that characterizes the entrance to the museum, with which we want to give a completely innovative visual perspective, almost as if visitors were embraced by the structure upon their arrival.

To achieve this effect, the sculptor used it colored surfaces, mirrors and lines of 8,7 cm, creating a contiguity between the outside and the inside.
Through this peculiar architectural design, an attempt is made to “rotate” the museum, allowing it to align itself with Via Settembrini, the address of the entrance.

In this way Buren encourages with his performing art the feeling of belonging that every person should feel towards works and museums. In this way the link between the artist, the work and the place in which it is conceived.

Recall that the Mother museum will remain open for free in August.
