Tasty challenges, music and guided tours will enliven the Challenge of pork frying in Gesualdo!

The 13 March 2016, the Irpino municipality of Gesualdo will host the event Disfida del Soffritto di maiale.

In the peasant world, the pig has always been considered an almost sacred animal, whose meat is used to produce sausages and cured meats of all kinds. A well-known saying, in fact, states that 'nothing is thrown away from the pig ' and also its entrails are used to cook a specialty of Campania: the fried, an energetic and tasty dish, prepared with aromas, tomatoes, red pepper and red wine.

During this event organized by the Condotta Irpinia Colline dell'Ufita and Taurasi, which will host the Condotta Foggia and Monti Dauni, in collaboration with the ASTREA association, there will be a culinary competition on the preparation of the best sauté which will be awarded by a technical jury of Slow Food Convivia.

Moreover, they will not miss the tasting peasant breakfasts, of local wines, popular sounds and dances, guided tours of the country, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy thanks to its noble palaces, the Castle and the ancient historic center.
