The variations of the traffic system developed for the stage of the 97th Giro d'Italia between Sassano (Sa) and Montecassino (Fr)

The bell stage of the 97th Giro d'Italia will pass between Sassano (Sa) e Monte Cassino (Fr), from 11 to 14 in the afternoon, and, for the occasion, a special has been arranged traffic device.

Traffic interruptions will be active on some sections of the extra-urban territory:

  • along the whole Campania section of the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, exiting at the Sala Consilina, Polla, Sicignano degli Alburni, Eboli, Battipaglia and Pontecagnano junctions;
  • on the Raccordo Sicignano-Potenza, at the exit of the Buccino junction;
  • on the Tangenziale di Salerno, near the Pontecagnano and Zona Industriale junctions.

It should also be noted that from 10 am and as long as there will be the passage of cyclists, a transit ban will be active in the city of Salerno and in the municipality of Battipaglia. Then, changes will be made to the route for the Sita links that pass in that stretch. The changes will be as follows:

Salerno

  • the buses from Naples via A3 Napoli-Salerno, will pass on the motorway until the Salerno-Fratte exit, after which they enter via Irno and continue to the Rouen bridge, via E. Caterina, via Farao, via Memoli, via Nizza, piazza Casalbore, then turn left on via Conforti (stop for travelers descent), via Dalmazia and continue to the terminus of Via Vinciprova. For departures from Salerno, the route will be regular
  • the buses coming from Avellino, Castiglione and San Mango, arrived in piazza Casalbore, turn left on via Conforti, via Dalmazia and continue to the terminus of Via Vinciprova. For journeys departing from Salerno, the route will be regular
  • the buses on the Naples-Salerno route, via Nocera, and vice versa, cover the A3 Naples-Salerno with exit and entrance at the Nocera junction
  • departures from Giffoni Valle Piana and Montecorvino Rovella, arrived in via Ostaglio, continue along via Trinità, enter the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria from the San Mango Piemonte junction with exit at the Salerno-Fratte junction, enter send Irno and continue for the terminus of Via Vinciprova. The races for Giffoni Valle Piana and Montecorvino Rovella, which depart from the terminus of Via Vinciprova, will continue on via Torrione, via SS. Martiri Salernitani towards Fratte, they will enter the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria with the exit at the San Mango Piemonte junction, via Ostaglio and will continue on their own paths;
  • the runs to and from Montecorvino Pugliano will use the Pontecagnano Sud junction
  • the buses to the Amalfi Coast, which depart from the terminus in Via Vinciprova, will travel along Corso Garibaldi, Piazza XXIV Maggio, Piazza Casalbore, Via Paolo de Granita, Via Moscato, will merge onto the A3 Napoli-Salerno-Reggio Calabria towards Naples, with exit at Cava de 'Tirreni and will return to the motorway from the same junction towards Reggio Calabria, will exit at the Vietri sul Mare junction and continue on their own paths
  • the buses that depart from the Amalfi Coast, arrived in Vietri sul Mare, enter the A3 Napoli-Salerno-Reggio Calabria towards Naples, with the exit at Cava de 'Tirreni and return to the motorway from the same junction towards Reggio Calabria, they will then exit at Salerno / Fratte junction and will pass on via Moscato, via Pio XI, piazza San Francesco, piazza XXIV Maggio, seafront and will continue to the terminus of Via Vinciprova

Battipaglia

  • the buses coming from Cilento, arrived at the crossroads of Santa Cecilia, continue their journey towards the Eboli junction of the A3 and enter the motorway towards Salerno. On the way back they follow the opposite route.
  • the connections to and from Fisciano are temporarily suspended until the total restoration of the road system
