From the 2009, concurrent with the Naples Theater Festival, a review of experimental and avant-garde theater is also held, inspired by the innovative spirit of Fringe Festival held annually by the 1947 in Edinburgh in August.
It is of 'E45 Napoli Fringe Festival which presents, in each edition, a program of unpublished shows presented by independent companies and selected with an official announcement. The goal is to discover new forms of theater, giving the possibility to new realities to emerge and obtain the right awards at the Napoli Teatro Festival.
The Campania Festival Foundation makes available to the selected companies venues for the staging, technical and organizational staff, giving them the 100% of the collections.
And so this year, by 6 23 to June, eight Neapolitan spaces, the Reduced Mercadante Room, Sala Assoli of the Teatro Nuovo, Toledo Gallery, Sannazaro Theater, Mother Museum, San Severo Chapel, Bourbon tunnel e Unity Suor Orsola Benincasa, will be transformed into as many stages on which there will be original performances of all kinds.
From contemporary dance to prose, from musical theater to that of the senses, from site-specific performances to holograms, brought to Naples by companies coming from Naples but also from every part of the world, like the Japanese one that will open the Festival on June 6 .
Of the 70 shows presented at the selections, 30 were chosen by the jury to debut at the Festival in the Fringe 2013 program, with 5000 euro of contribution to each production.
Among Neapolitan companies choices: Compagnia Danza Flux, Flegreinarte, Francesco Colaleo, Hermit Crab-Rosso Simona and Fortunato Cerlino, Nerosesamo, Patraio productions. Between international companies: a Welsh dance company, Sioned Huws, an Italian-Dutch dance company, Annika Pannitto, a sensory theater company, Officina Sensi in collaboration with Babel Crew, an international group working on motor disabilities caused by neurological or mental disorders, Looking for Michele / Ludwig; a work signed by Michele Cremaschi that uses holograms.
