From the 15 30 2021 September get ethne atEdenlandia of Naples, a Festival that brings us the dances from the world making us live the wonderful experience of dancing from many places, near and far.

Admission to both the park and the shows is always free and will give us the opportunity to admire incredible dances that also tell us about different traditions and cultures, even very different from ours. A way to feel even closer, despite the many kilometers away, a miracle that art and music always manage to achieve.

The event is organized by Mestieri del Palco, CRASC and Le Streghe del Palco who, in a particular context such as the Edenlandia amusement park, will bring us many pieces of the world that will find themselves living together. Fromhip hop al Flemish, from composer to the salsa, passing through the tarantella, capoeira , Belly dance, there will be many genres to keep us company.

Between dances, rides and cotton candy

Edenlandia will be a particular stage because there are within it many rides and entertainment opportunities and to taste tasty food like the famous one fried staple and cotton candy and, between a moment of fun and the next, we will let ourselves be enchanted by the sinuous movements of the guest dancers and their engaging rhythms.

The program of dances

September 15 - Hip Hop

The first appointment is with hip hop and the Bronx neighborhood of New York. Here this genre was born in the 70s and the heart of the movement are the Block Parties, that is, street parties in which African Americans and Latin Americans danced together. The dances will be organized by the Unconditional Love for DAcnehall school in Naples, dedicated to Jamaican culture.

September 16 - Flamenco

Flamenco tells us about Andalusia and is a dance born at the end of the 700th century as a way to vent joys and sorrows. In flamenco there are music, dance and a song that can seem out of tune, all performed without a guitar, but with rhythmic support of the body such as the beating of the feet on the ground or the knuckles of the hands on a table. At Edenlandia there will be the dancer, teacher and choreographer Manuela Iannelli who trained with great international flamenco masters.

September 17 - Tango

The third appointment is with the tango, born in Argentina. The origins of this name are unknown, but it was considered a sinful dance by the Christian religion. There will be the tango dogs Oxana Matskevich and Vincenzo Caiazzo, also excellent teachers.

September 23 - Salsa

The name of this dance derives from the "mixture" of rhythms and sounds. It is a Caribbean dance born in New York in the Puerto Rican neighborhood in the early 60s. It develops in various styles that differ in gestures, techniques and figures and at Edenlandia we will be delighted by Anna De Biase's students.

September 24 - Tarantella

The tarantella will be the protagonist of this stage. It is a dance that we know well in Naples and which probably has its origins in the province of Taranto. It is perhaps the best known Italian dance abroad and its name derives from “taranta”, a poisonous spider also widespread in the Taranto countryside and the dance is linked to the bite therapy of this animal. At the Festival there will be Flora Scarpati, Federica Sibio and Michela De Felice, professional dancers of the MIA DANZA ASD association.

September 29 - Belly dance

Belly dance was born in Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia and in the Arab countries and best represents femininity, vitality and sensuality. Its origin dates back to the religious ceremonies practiced in Mesopotamia by women in honor of the mother-goddess Ishtar. The Festival will host Maria "Shisha", a scholar and enthusiast of popular and oriental dances who will perform in a sensual dance to the notes of the violinist Edo Notarloberti.

September 30 - Capoeira

The last date is with Capoeira, a dance from Bahia, Brazil. More than a dance it is a martial art with musical expressive elements characterized by harmonious movements. It mixes fight and dance and derives from the practices of some African tribes and Portuguese colonies. It contributes to the formation of character in a joyful environment, in fact it is also a pedagogical tool. In Naples, the teachers Giovanni Coraggio (aka Tatù) and Fernando da Silva (aka Alemão) use it for the recovery of street children.
