The program of religious and cultural events, with concerts and shows, of the Feast of San Gennaro 2016 in Naples!
One of the most awaited and loved celebrations by Neapolitans is the Feast of San Gennaro and also in this 19 September 2016 a full program of religious and cultural events is planned to pay tribute to the patron saint of Naples.
Appointments will wind along the whole month, until arriving in October, with a series of processions, concerts, shows and ceremonies, naturally including the long-awaited miracle of the dissolution of the blood that will happen in the Duomo. But events will also have other venues, like the Diocesan Museum, Lungomare Caracciolo, the Decumani and the squares.
Below we indicate all the program in the details with religious and civil events. They are all ad free entry, subject to availability.

Guided tour of the Church of Santa Maria delle Anime del Purgatorio
On the occasion of the Feast of San Gennaro, the European Sommelier School, in collaboration with Progetto Museo, offers a path of cultural and oenological study. One will be carried out special guided tour to the Church of the Souls in Purgatory and the hypogeum will also be open in the evening, and the wooden bust of the saint will also be exhibited. In the first part of the visit you will admire the baroque art of the church and you will discover the history of the famous Lucia, whose capuzzella It is used by the faithful to ask for graces.
In the second part they will taste three important wines from Campania with local products.

Procession to the Vomero
In the Basilica of San Gennaro in Antignano there is a high relief that recalls the miracle of the dissolution of blood which took place during a pause in a liturgical procession for the transport of the body and head of the saint to the Basilica of Capodimonte.
The 19 September, in the parish of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini there will be a mass and then the procession along the ancient via Antiniana and the historic streets of Vomero district.

Concert in San Lorenzo Maggiore
The Terra Mia association, which takes its name from the song of the same name by Pino Daniele, has organized a concert in which some important artists of the Italian scene will sing, reinterpreting them, classic Neapolitan songs, but also a piece of Italian music in general.

Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro
It is always possible to visit the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, even more so on the day dedicated to it. Inside it is possible to admire the most important piece of the whole collection: the Gemmated Mithra composed of about 4000 precious stones made by the goldsmiths of Neapolitan art.
