International Design Festival in Naples, the Plart Foundation and the Mother Museum

From 8 to 11 October 2014 the second edition of the International Festival of Design, between tradition, innovation and sustainable development, promoted by Plart Foundation.

The Festival is divided into three editions, the first was held in January and July 2014, the second in October 2014 and the third in March 2015 and May 2015. The project is based on various levels of cultural action and on the relationship between tradition and innovation, in a dimension attentive to environmental sustainability (green economy). The platform is coordinated by the Plart Foundation , with the active involvement of numerous partners and places, to start new narratives of the territory through shared looks and various geographical and disciplinary backgrounds.

La Plart Foundation, in organizing the International Festival of Design, has drawn inspiration from the famous Ettore Sottsass, which in the 1973 prophetically launched the project "The planet as a festival", an invitation to courage and the desire to dream. Sottsass defines the vision of a world where design helps to change habits and review the dynamics of our daily life.

One of the themes that inspired the Festival is the multitude, expression of a cultural multiplicity in a global context marked by the pervasiveness of communication and by a production system largely based on language and knowledge.
