For the International Day of people with disabilities free guided tours in the museums of Naples and Campania.

Saturday December 3 2016, as established by the "World Action Program for Disabled Persons" adopted in 1982 by the UN General Assembly, the "International Day of People with Disabilities"And also to Napoli some are expected guided tours in the main museums.

The MiBACT, with the slogan “One day a year all year round” confirms its commitment to ensure the best conditions to take advantage of the cultural heritage.

The annual event aims to raise public awareness on the issues of equal dignity and on the need to break down all types of barriers to improve the living conditions of people with disabilities. Some museums they will offer guided tours with educational workshops to allow even the blind to appreciate art through touch and listening.

Program

Charterhouse and Museum of San Martino: "Hearing, touch and smell"

The Certosa and the Museum of San Martino propose a visit that will take place in the Church, in the Cloisters and in the Gardens, a museum tour especially dedicated to visitors with disabilities. The visit will begin in the Church with a tactile and narrative itinerary during which we will talk about the materials used for the creation and decoration, how to make the inlays in marble and hard stone, the mastery of wood carving and the processing of metals. The history of the Certosa will be told along the way as you cross the Cloister of Procurators, the Cloister, the ancient Cimiterino and the Carthusian Gardens.

Duke of Martina Museum, Villa Floridiana: "Touch me"

At the Duca di Martina Museum there will be a guided tour dedicated, in particular, to visually impaired people. The visit consists in getting to know, by means of touch, the works of art in the museum and the materials with which they are made. Visitors will be able to perceive the texture and temperature of the materials, the hardness of the Chinese porcelain in the large fish tank, the smoothness of ivory and the warmth of a walnut table.

Archaeological Museum of Eboli: “See the Museum. Listening and Touching "

The Archaeological Museum of Eboli and the middle Sele Valley has organized itineraries in the museum rooms, dedicated to the blind and visually impaired, through the project “Seeing the Museum Listening and Touching”. Visitors, accompanied by the museum director and the educational service, will be able to see the works on display, touch the reproductions and hear the story of the life of the ancient inhabitants of the Sele Valley. At the end of the meeting they will be able to participate in the tactile-sensorial laboratory, created by the multifunctional farm “La casa di Angiù” and create perfumed bath salts using the essences of the territory.

Archaeological Museum of ancient Capua: "Art in every sense"

The Museum of ancient Capua offers visitors a workshop and a visit to discover the museum's masterpieces. The tactile workshop "Art in every sense", curated by the professional archaeologists of the Capua Vetere Cultural Association, will be held in the Capitolium hall and will be dedicated, in particular, to blind and partially sighted people. The visits to the Museum's collections and to the exhibition “Human like all mothers in the world, seated on thrones like goddesses” will be aimed especially at visitors with motor disabilities.
