The National Day of Urban Trekking will unfold in dense itineraries in the surface and in the subsoil of Naples
Naples becomes, for the second time after 2012, the location of the National Trekking Day Urbanor, that for its X Edition is done in four: from October 31 to November 3 you can devote yourself completely to "slow-trekking". On the weekend of 9-10 November, on the other hand, underground routes will be carried out
A trek adapted to the city environment, lighter than what is typically practiced in the mountains, but which combines walking at a constant pace on the road surface with interest in the city and its history.
In fact, in these days the city will only be toured on foot, thanks to the Sports Association RuNaples, to which the Municipality of Naples has entrusted the event.
In this way, we want to promote outdoor sports and "walking on foot looking around". The program of the National Day of Urban Trekking will be full of itineraries for everyone and will unfold in "Above" and "Below" Paths. In this way, it will be discovered both the Naples of the surface and that of the subsoil.
The route, in its entirety, takes the name of "Naples Beautiful, Ancient and Oblique" and will cross Naples for about 10 km. It will be based above all on trekking at a “sporty” pace and there will always be companions of the RuNaples association. Instead, the “Napoli Bella” and “Napoli Bella e Antica” itineraries will be carried out by an authorized tour guide who will also narrate “cultural pills” as you come across monuments, churches and roads of interest.

Friday 1 November
Departure: piazza dei Martiri
Time: 9,00
I Itinerary: percorso from the "cultural" cut (about 5 km, at a slower pace, with an authorized tourist guide):
- Naples Beautiful and Ancient: Piazza dei Martiri, Lungomare, Piazza Plebiscito, up to the ancient center (Decumano Maggiore, Spaccanapoli, Montesanto)
II Itinerary: path from the "sport" cut (about 10 km, to trekking step, with short cultural "pills"):
- Napoli Bella, Antica, Obliqua: continue through the streets and squares of the historic center, from Spaccanapoli up to the square of the Certosa di San Martino, going up the Pedamentina stairway. You will return to the starting point (P.zza dei Martiri) going down the steps of the Petraio.

Possibility to visit, with low-cost ticket, some of the underground sites of the city: Museo del Sottosuolo, Scavi di San Lorenzo, Catacombs of San Gennaro, Bourbon Tunnel.
Opening of the 31 October with a special evening visit to the Catacombs of San Gennaro and modern art exhibition "Paleocontemporanea".
