Green Pass, the deadline for those who have 3 doses of vaccine is extended: the ideas of the Government

Green pass
0: 00 / 0: 00

In the next few days, the Government will have to express another thorny issue that has been debating the various political parties for many months, namely the duration of the Green Pass.

The new hypothesis under consideration provides for eliminate or extend the Green Pass deadline for those who already have three doses of the vaccine. We remind you that from 1 February the new rule provided for by the decrees already in force will be in force and which reduces the duration of the Green Certification from the current 9 months to 6 months.

According to the new hypotheses, however, things could change again for those who have received 3 doses of the vaccine.

The node of the 4th dose and the expiry of the Green Pass

Why is the duration of the Green Pass being re-discussed? The problem lies precisely in the fact that many Green Passes will soon expire in mid-March considering that the go-ahead for the booster dose was given in September. So, about 100000 people would no longer have the Green Pass and they should continuously swab to go to work or access other activities

Furthermore, from 1 February the new duration will be 6 months, as mentioned and the problem would reappear after a few months and there would be 7 million people without a Green Pass in May.

Once the validity has expired, it is still not clear how those who have the 3 dose of vaccine will have to manage given the fact that it is not known if we will also have to carry out a 4 dose. The long-term Green Pass is linked to the administration of the vaccine or to recovery, as we know, excluding the cases of temporary Green Passes which are obtained with the negative swab and which last 72 (molecular swab) or 48 hours (rapid swab).

This is why we are discussing and in the coming days we will have some answers, even after the opinion of the CTS, given that access to almost all activities in our country is subject to the possession of the Green Pass.

The most likely solution is to consider it valid until a final decision on a possible fourth dose of vaccine is reached.

The abolition of color bands for the Regions

At issue is also the question relating to the color bands of the Regions, linked to the overcoming of the critical bands of occupancy of beds in intensive care and hospital admissions. Some believe that these are now obsolete bands and that other parameters should be evaluated to trigger the restrictions on anti-Covid regulations.

Campania in the yellow zone

We remind you that the Campania Region has been in the yellow zone since January 17, even if in fact nothing has changed for us. In fact, between the white area and the yellow area only the obligation to wear the mask outdoors changes, a rule already foreseen for us by De Luca's previous ordinances.

We point out that in general in the yellow area:

  • can be get out of their commune;
  • can be leave your region;
  • shops and premises remain open without time limits;
  • the outdoor mask, as already mentioned.

Will the 4th dose of vaccine be done?

It is not easy to answer this question because theEma andAIFA, the two regulatory agencies for the use of drugs, the first European and the second Italian, must decide whether it will be necessary for the entire population. At the moment it is being considered whether to administer it above all to the weaker sections of the population.

Until this decision, the Green Pass will probably not expire for those who have 3 doses.

The obligation of a swab for those arriving from abroad

Health Minister Roberto Speranza and the Governors of the Regions will also discuss on the need to maintain the obligation to swab for those arriving from abroad, from other EU countries, or whether to delete it. The Governors would like to eliminate him because it creates too many slowdowns for tourism, but Minister Speranza is not entirely convinced.

The current ordinance expires this obligation on January 31 and it will have to be seen if it will be renewed from February 1. Currently, the ordinance provides for the imposition of the tampon before boarding the plane, both at the entrance and at the exit.

The proposal would be not to impose tampons or quarantines on those who:

  • has a complete vaccination course;
  • she recovered from Covid;
  • have a negative swab in their country.

All this regardless of the epidemiological situation of the country of departure.
