Discovering the mysteries of Naples through guided tours, performances, exhibitions and reading about ghosts and Neapolitan legends
Naples is one of the most mysterious and enigmatic cities in the world. Its streets, its alleys and its houses are surrounded by dark secrets, around which hover fascinating stories and legends that deserve to be told and disseminated to tourists but also to its inhabitants.
An opportunity to learn about the mysteries hidden in the meanders of the city of Naples is the cultural initiative The palaces of the spirits - Ghosts in Naples: tourist and cultural routes between sacredness and esotericism, a series of events, readings, screenings, performances and shows, exhibitions and guided tours on the ghosts and mysteries of Naples.
Characters such as O 'munaciell, Bella' Mbriana, the Prince of Sansevero, Maria d'Avalos and the "pezzentelle souls" will be evoked, representing the essence of Neapolitan esotericism and sacredness.
From the 21 30 2014 June various Neapolitan locations will host these unprecedented and suggestive cultural meetings promoted by the Universal Forum of Cultures Foundation of Naples and the Department of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts and dozens of cultural institutions and associations, public and private subjects .
An event, the one on the "Palazzi degli Spiriti" which, as stated by the councilor for culture Nino Daniele “It can also be an opportunity for Naples to rediscover suggestive and sometimes overlooked places. I am thinking among others of the Casa, or Palazzo degli Spiriti di Posillipo, a monument unique in the world and of great charm, an ancient Roman domus, dating back to the first century. BC that emerges from the waters in all its grandeur, but also a fragile monument, for which there is a problem of recovery and enhancement ".
