Discovering the ghosts and legends of the historic center of Naples with the theatrical guided tour "Naples, ghosts and other stories"
Naples is one of the cities that best combines the ends between the sacred and the profane, between mystery and real and its streets hide dozens of legends, tales and myths halfway between the esoteric and the commonplace.
The NarteA association therefore decided to organize an interesting guided tour with the name "Naples, ghosts and other stories“, To lead the participants through the alleys of the historic center and make them discover all the mysteries of the palaces of the Upper and Lower Decumano. The visit will take place on 29 June 2014 at 11 in the morning and was promoted by the Foundation Universal Forum of Culturee by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples.
We will start from one of the most representative squares from the point of view of mystery and esotericism: Piazza San Domenico Maggiore. Here, between the Basilica of the same name, the nearby Cappella di San Severo and Palazzo Petrucci the three vertices of a magic triangle are recreated.
We will know each other the story of the two lovers Maria d'Avalos and Fabrizio Carafa and the place where the legend of the severed heads of six barons is still told.
Continuing on Via Tribunali, you will pass among other buildings full of mystery to reach the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore and allGreek agora where the Masaniello revolt took place. In the splendid basilica we will visit the Greek-Roman excavations where you can admire a rare testimony of Roman markets and the splendid cloister.
In this place also echoes the legend of the Munaciello, a spiteful spirit that hides in the narrow streets and cavities of the historic center.
The whole visit will be narrated and theatricalized by the professional actors noAntimo Casertano and Marianita Carfora.
