It is staged at the Sancarluccio Theater of Naples the new stage of the twenty-year poetic and musical journey of the Neapolitan chamber quintet The Virtuosi di San Martino, until April 27 2014.
Founded in 1994, the musical group draws on the repertoire of the folk music to upset formulas and aesthetics, proposing concerts / shows straddling theater and music, between avanspectacle and opera, sometimes mocking “cultured” music in its reduction to a commonplace, as well as the language of the media or the literary one.
Al Teatro Sancarluccio I Virtuosi di San Martino, in the line-up composed of Roberto Del Gaudio (voice and lyrics), Federico Odling (cello and music), Vittorio Ricciardi (flutes), Antonio Gambardella (violin) and Carmine Terracciano (guitar), will perform in wreckage, giving shape to a new gallery of characters, figures inspired by the everyday life of Italian metropolises, as simple inhabitants, habitual frequenters of bars, public offices, institutional benches, all imprisoned in the commonplaces of which they are insane carriers. Scraps awaiting final destination that become the main objective in the mocking and harsh discussion proposed by the irreverent quintet.
