The Saviano Carnival 2024, the complete program

Il Saviano Carnival is preparing to set the streets ablaze with a riot of colours, sounds and celebrations. This traditional celebration, rooted in local culture, offers a rich and varied programme, suitable for all ages and tastes. From the 9 to 13 February 2024, and with a special event the 10 March, the city is transformed into a lively stage, where tradition and innovation meet.

The days will be punctuated by fashion shows mask, concerts, evenings folk and animations for the little ones, creating a festive and inclusive environment. The highlight will be the grand parade of 11 allegorical floats, a display of craftsmanship and creativity, which will capture the imagination of spectators of all ages. Every corner of Saviano will come alive, transforming the city into a colorful canvas of carnival joy, attracting visitors from all over the region and beyond.

The history of the Saviano Carnival

The Savianese Carnival, with roots in 1979, evolved from a one-man event allegorical chariot in Sant'Erasmo at an important cultural event. In the 1980, new floats are added, such as "Il Mondo" and "Pulcinella", which parade uncoordinated in the historic center. 1981 sees the emergence of floats such as “The Pope” and “Carnaval do Brasil”, increasing the carnival joy.

Il 1982 marks a significant evolution under the leadership of Pro Loco and Prof. Donato Allocca, making the Carnival an institutional event. Every year, new floats and shows enrich the event, such as the "Quadrille" in 1983 and seven chariots in the 1984. The event involves schools and associations, expanding its cultural reach.

As the years went by, the Savianese Carnival becomes more and more popular, despite a hiatus in 1991 due to the Gulf War. In the 2000, the Carnival reaches 13 floats, with a significant increase in the public and activities. Its fame extends far beyond the region, establishing itself as one of the most renowned carnivals in the Region, thanks to local craftsmanship and community commitment.

18.00-20.00 hours: Fashion show organized by the Istituto Superiore Montalcini-Ferraris at the school complex in Piazza Musco.
14.30-18.00 hours: Popular folk evening with wagon at Spartimento di Scisciano.
18.00-24.00 hours: Popular folk evening with float in via Fressuriello organized by the Ass. Fressuriello prospects.
16.00-19.30 hours: “Funfair in the square” promoted by the Terra Mia A.P.S. Association edited by the La Vittoria and W LA TV Committees.
9.00pm-13.00pm: Popular folk evening with float in the Torre district at the Piazzolla middle school in Nola.
