The 2015 Ice Cream Festival stops in Naples

Naples will also be one of the stops of the 2015 Gelato Festival with many stands where you can taste new flavors and the exclusive Gelato-Cocktail

Il 2015 Festival Ice Cream will also arrive in Naples, in via Luca Giordano at Parco Mascagna, at the Giardinetti Ruoppolo al Vomero, as part of the tour that will involve numerous Italian and international cities, all ready to welcome this delicious event.

In Naples, the dates to mark on the calendar are those that go from 14 to 17 May 2015, four days all dedicated to artisanal ice cream and other special delicacies. The numbers of last summer's edition were record-breaking and recorded full of public, with almost one and a half million people throughout Italy who attended the event.

This is why the Gelato Festival plans to repeat itself again this year, especially in our warm city which welcomed it to the splendid promenade last year.
An event in which it will be possible to taste not only traditional ice cream, but also discover new tastes, unusual mixes, specialties of some ice cream makers and special products made for the occasion.

Tastings and Ice Cream Card

During the Gelato Festival, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase the Ice Cream Card (discounted, if purchased online) and to taste many different tastes thanks to the tastings offered by the ice cream masters in the stands and by the companies present. Unpublished tastes, innovative combinations, ice creams created with organic products, Doc or zero Km which are both innovative but also linked to the culinary tradition of our territory.
One of the peculiarities of the Festival is the Gelato-Cocktail, The so-called ice-cream to drink. Cold, in version to drink becomes a real dessert to be enjoyed as an aperitif. It is offered in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions, intended primarily for those who prefer the straw to the teaspoon or cone.
Ice creams will also be offered for those with specific needs, such as sorbets without milk and gluten-free tastes.

Competition

One of the highlights of the days of the event is certainly the contest that sees the most important ice-cream masters challenge each other In circulation. Experimenting with new flavors and new combinations, they will try to conquer the public and experts. It will also be an opportunity to learn about the specialties of each master and discover new flavors.
The jury that will judge the participants of each stage will decide, in the end, the Best Gelato Maker in Europe 2015. Jury that on the one hand will be popular, with the public choosing their favorite teacher by writing his name on a postcard, on the other hand it will be a technical jury composed of experts in the sector.

Visual laboratory and Didactic

Thanks to the innovative Buontalenti mobile laboratory and its large transparent glass window it will be possible assist in person in creating ice cream! The best craftsmen in the sector will show the public all the stages of preparation. Furthermore, thanks to the courses organized on the Caterina de 'Medici truck, the most important names in Italian ice cream and cuisine will explain to the public tricks and secrets of the trade, involving him in the preparation of many recipes.

Leopoldo tarallo ice cream

The festival will be an opportunity for the historian Leopoldo to present his latest workhorse, tarallo ice cream. In the I Buontalenti laboratory, the 15st May, first one will be carried out live demonstration on the preparation of the ice cream, then they will be granted tastings to the public present. A greedy initiative to taste a product that combines sweet and savory in a perfect mix.
