The famous drama was written in 1866 in only 29 days by one Dostoevsky pressed by gambling debts and that he had to respect a firm commitment with his publisher, under penalty of losing the rights to all his works. A "bet in the bet" won by the writer who succeeded in the enterprise, respecting the deadline and delivering his great masterpiece to the whole world.

The text represents a real one anthropological and social analysis of gambling and issues treated are the obsessions, weaknesses, passion and compulsion of the characters of the story, such as Aleskej (the protagonist, played by Daniele Russo), Polina and Bianca, also facing situations very similar to contemporary ones.

The installation by Gabriele Russo it reflects their hardships and their weaknesses and represents them like a Dantesque circle, dragging the influence in a spiral made up of gambling, passions and compulsions “Which leads straight to that (non) place where desire turns into obsession and is no longer limited to governing the protagonists, but ends up subjugating them”.
