The itinerary in the Darwin Dohrn Museum

As the name suggests, the Museum is dedicated to two of the greatest personalities in science and biology we are talking about Charles Darwin and Anton Dohrn.

Visiting the Darwin Dohrn Museum you can make a fascinating trip to the oceans and discover many curiosities about how organisms over time have adapted to different marine environments.

There will be works d'pictorial art, sculptures, biological finds and historical instruments that will allow you to understand how the present forms of life have developed.

The skeleton of a Sperm Whale

Arriving in the multipurpose room you can observe a large skeleton of a sperm whale which was found by researchers on Christmas 2018 in Ischia. This will then be surrounded by models of organisms that feed on the carcasses of these animals on the seabed.

The educational museum and the external space

Inside the center there is also a Educational museum dedicated to students in which practical activities of observation of marine life can be developed. There will also be an outdoor space that hosts bathyscaphe like those of Picard sold by the MareAmico Cultural Association.

The lawn, on the other hand, will welcome a special one outdoor cinema which will be used for documentaries on the sea and for the international competition on scientific cinema.
