The famous work by Eduardo De Filippo revisited in a contemporary key by Mario Martone. On stage the young cast of the Nest-Napoli Est Teatro.
From the 6 18 2018 March will be on stage, al Bellini Theater of Naples, The mayor of the Health District, the masterpiece of Eduardo De Filippo, with directing Mario Martone, one of the most authoritative Italian directors.
Ithe mayor of the Health District it's here revisited in a contemporary and revolutionary key, making Eduardo's text even more alive and close to the events that animate current news.
The show, which was already successful last year, was born from the collaboration between the Teatro Stabile di Torino - Teatro Nazionale, the company of Luca De Filippo Elledieffe, now directed by Carolina Rosi, and The NEST-Napoli Est Theater, the company composed of young actors, directors, set designers and playwrights of the San Giovanni a Teduccio district.
The story, which sees the protagonist of the work Antonio Barracano, the "mayor" that administers the vicissitudes of the district, a mature "man of honor" who distinguishes between "good and bad people", has fallen in our days, in the days of the little "bosses", not even thirty, who manage Neapolitan crime.
That's why Mario Martone chose to have the characters of the famous Edwardian text interpreted by actors of a low age group, and to entrust also the role of the Mayor to the young Francesco Di Leva.
The actor is also composed of the cast of the show Massimiliano Gallo, Giovanni Ludeno and Adriano Pantaleo.
