The cycle of free Archeology Meetings at the Archaeological Museum of Naples is starting with conferences and performances!

Il Archaeological Museum of Naples invites the Neapolitan public to a new series of appointments with Meetings of Archeology, an initiative that has reached the XXI edition.

From February to May 2016 a lot of calendar are on the calendar activities and conferences ranging from photography to restoration, from music to archeology, through a program that aims to explore all the languages ​​and aspects of ancient and contemporary culture.

Exhibitions, shows e readings they will involve the participants to lead them to discover the vast historical and artistic heritage which has always distinguished our territory.

It is known for now February program, which we report below together with the methods of participation. The meetings will be held both at the Archaeological Museum and in other venues listed in the program. The calendar is continuously updated.

Presentations
Presentation of the "Guide to intercultural Naples". Speakers Corrado Maffia, president of the School of Peace-Naples, and Fulvio Mesolella, scientific coordinator of the publication. Introduced by Paolo Giulierini, director of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. The guide proposes three itineraries - Archaeological Museum of Naples, Ancient Center, Piazza Mercato area - illustrating how much in these contexts there is the encounter between different cultures.

Our Labs 
Laboratory "Photographing the MANN": the photographs produced on 19 December 2015 by the participants in the workshop proposed by the Educational Service in collaboration with the Flegrea Photo Association and conducted by Marco De Gemmis, Gianluigi Gargiulo, Angelo Marra and Francesco Soranno are projected and commented on. Those who have not participated and want to join the group will be able to create their own images on Sunday 7 February 2016, the day of free admission to the Museum: for info contact@flegreaphoto.it. Reservation is not required. Free admission subject to availability.

Conferences and performances
"Red DV and other suggestions", by Evan De Vilde: coinciding with the "Scriptura" exhibition in Castel dell'Ovo, the artist presents "his" red derived from the Pompeian frescoes, an artistic performance on his therapeutic abilities, and finally the "archeorealism" with which blends ancient artifacts and contemporary contexts. Speakers, with the artist and curator Daniela Ricci, the Councilor for Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Naples Nino Daniele and Antonio Geirola. Reservation is not required. Tactile tours
“With a touch of archeology. Writing in Velia from epigraphs to Braille ”. The initiative, organized on the occasion of the National Braille Day by the Superintendency in collaboration with the Velino Archaeological Group and the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired - Provincial Section of Salerno and Casalvelino, will be held at the Park, equipped with a small exhibition space for blind people and a guide in Braille, and is aimed at illustrating the importance of writing as a means of communication from antiquity to today. Reservation is not required. Participation is free.

"MA MOVEMENT OPEN" Performance
"I'm tired" by Mauro Maurizio Palumbo, with the saxophone by Antonio Raia and snapshots by Luisa Terminiello
curated by Marco De Gemmis. Palumbo's performance, last month at the MANN at the Ercole Farnese, before reaching the CAMUSAC Cassino Museum of Contemporary Art, passes through the space of the "MA Movimento Arte" Association, where it is proposed together with the performance and exhibition "Osservatori" by Lucia Schettino. Free admission.
