The Capodimonte Museum organizes Medieval Art Meetings to discover Romanesque, Gothic and Angevin Naples

The initiative of the "Meetings of Medieval Art", a cycle of guided tours and conferences which this year has as its theme the "Works of art and sacred spaces in Medieval Naples and in the Capodimonte Museum". From March to May 2016 six appointments are scheduled, four at the Museum of Capodimonte and two others between the Complex of Santa ChiaraNaples Cathedral (the dome).

Started on March 10 at the Capodimonte Museum, the cycle was promoted by the Capodimonte Museum and the Department of Humanities of theUniversity of Naples Federico II, in collaboration with the active non-profit organization Friends of Capodimonte.

The meetings will propose to the public works little notes but precious and of great interest cultural, witnesses of the influences and dominations that the city of Naples has undergone over time. They can thus be admired Angevin frescos, masterpieces of Gothic and Romanesque sculpture, pieces of Christian craftsmanship of the rich Borgia Collection.

Admission is free subject to availability, with reservation obligation via e-mail and confirmation reply, both for conferences at the Capodimonte Museum and for visits to the territory.
