A white night in Ercolano full of events and art including exhibitions, cinema, dance, music, theater, archeology and tastings!
Il MAV, Virtual Archaeological Museum of Ercolano, organizes, for the 18 March 2016, Night of Memory, an interesting one White Night in the municipality of Ercolano.
The initiative is part of the broader program of events in the Festival of Memory which, inaugurated at the end of January, will continue until the entire month of March, declining the theme of the memory through exhibitions, meetings, cinema, music and archeology.
The white night will follow a rich program of events with dance, movies, ,, music, archeology, technology and many tastings. All events will take place in the main places of Herculaneum, including the headquarters of the MAV. The streets involved will be via IV Novembre, Piazza Fontana, Corso Resina, Largo Santa Caterina, as well as the historic center. It will be an unmissable opportunity to discover even more deeply the city that hosts the ancient archaeological excavations and visit its most beautiful streets and squares.
During the evening, the MAV museum will be open for free and it will be possible to visit both the traditional museum itinerary and the multimedia installation “Unfolding the Aryan Papers”, set up by the English artists Louise and Jane Wilson and dedicated to Stanley Kubrick. In addition, to admire the exhibition "Memory of the gaze", a collection of photos taken in Herculaneum by the photographer Giorgio Massimo.
