Manuscripts of the great Italian literature, such as Leopardi and Dante, on display at the National Library of Naples.

From 7 at the 17 September 2016 (excluding Sunday 11 September) an exhibition will be set up to commemorate the works of the major authors of Italian literature both at National Library of Naples on the occasion of the National Congress of the Italian Association.

An exhibition that will tell eight centuries of Italian literature through important autographs, illuminated codes and priceless manuscripts of authors of the caliber of Dante Alighieri, Ungaretti, Leopardi, Petrarch, Boccaccio, Ariosto, Tasso and Vico.

The title of the exhibition was chosen from some words taken from the "Discourse of an Italian over romantic poetry" by Giacomo Leopardi exhibited in the library and which reads: "… .That speech to which all lives yield….".
An entire display case was set up in the exhibition hall for autographs by Giacomo Leopardi, among which the verses of his most famous compositions stand out, among which we remember “L'Infinito”, “A Silvia” and “La Ginestra” and then the prose writings from “Zibaldone” and “Operette Morali”.

On display there will be some valuable copies, dating back to the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, of the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, of the Boccaccio's Decameron  and of the Canzoniere di Petrarca. There will also be some autographed pages of "L" Orlando Furioso "by Ariosto, an editorial staff of" Gerusalemme Liberata "by Torquato Tasso and the autograph of the third edition of the" Principles of a new Science "by Giambattista Vico. The exhibition will conclude with a series of autographs by Giuseppe Ungaretti including famous verses, postcards from the front and letters.
